Just stumbled upon this in WA Today. That classic Australian rock band AC/DC have just released wine under their own label.
To be honest, I’m not sure that wine is the drink that one associates with AC/DC, perhaps bourbon or beer would be more appropriate. But then again, the last concert of theirs that I went to had more fans in suits than in leather jackets. So perhaps they’re not that far off the mark after all…
Made by Warburn Estate and sourced from the Barossa and Coonawarra wine regions of South Australia, varieties include Back in Black Shiraz, Highway to Hell Cabernet Sauvignon, You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato and Hells Bells Sauvignon Blanc. No news yet as to whether there will be a “Whole Lotta Rosé”.
Given that AC/DC’s front man Bon Scott died from alcohol abuse, I am not sure at the wisdom of AC/DC joining the ranks of bands with their own wine label. Hopefully they use this to promote responsible drinking somehow.
